Whether you’re heading to the seaside, the market, or just need an excellent excuse to carry too many snacks – this fabulous oversized tote is your new summer essential. With bold styling, plenty of space, and lots of sewing satisfaction, it’s a brilliant make for confident beginner sewers looking to build their machine skills.

We’ll be using a pattern by Atelier, a chic French brand (ooh la la!), but don’t worry – this is less Paris runway, more practical-and-pretty summer staple.

It’s also a perfect project for our  after-school sewing club youngsters– you know who you are! If you’ve already got the sewing bug and have built up your skills with Annie, you’ll fly through this one.

You’ll come away with a sturdy, stylish bag, a boost in confidence, and possibly a sudden urge to book a beach holiday.
