Crossover Apron Course: Tuesday March 24th, 10-2pm

£60.00

A brilliant starter sewing workshop and one of our most popular makes. The Betty’s Cross Back Apron is a Japanese-style apron with no ties — it simply slips on over your head with straps crossing neatly at the back. Comfortable, practical, and very flattering.

This workshop is ideal for complete beginners or anyone wanting a gentle, confidence-building introduction to sewing. We’ll guide you through every step, with plenty of help, tips and reassurance along the way.

The apron is designed in-house at Betty’s and has become a firm favourite. You’ll make your own version using beautiful fabrics, with the chance to add contrast details to make it truly individual.

What you’ll do

  • Learn basic machine sewing skills
  • Construct a simple but well-finished garment
  • Add contrast accents to pockets and neckline

Fabrics

  • Choose from our denim or linen range
  • Enjoy 15% off fabric purchased in the shop for the workshop
  • We often use Liberty linen with Liberty or Pima Lawn accents for pockets and trims

What’s included

  • Use of sewing machines
  • All tuition, guidance, and support
  • Snacks, tea, coffee and drinks throughout the session

Lunch

  • Lunch is not included
  • Please bring a packed lunch or book in advance from the tearoom prior to the course: juliecresswell01@btinternet.com

A relaxed, friendly workshop that’s all about learning, building confidence, and going home with something you’ll actually use. Perfect if you’re new to sewing or just want a satisfying, achievable make.
