Experiments in textiles day: Saturday August 9th, 10-3pm – could get messy!

Calling all creative youngstars aged 11 and up — especially those thinking of taking Textiles for GCSE!

Join us for a full day of hands-on fun as we dive into the world of textile experimentation. This workshop is perfect for budding designers who want to fill their sketchbooks with exciting samples and explore a variety of creative techniques.

We’ll be:

• Painting and printing onto fabric
• Collaging with fabric and capturing textures
• Sewing into mixed media surfaces
• Using beads, sequins, slashing and layering techniques
• Trying free machine embroidery (great prep for GCSE!)

A great opportunity for our after-school sewing club regulars — this longer session means you can try techniques that need time to dry and develop. You’ll leave with a mini portfolio of your experiments and a head full of ideas.

All materials provided. Bring a packed lunch, curiosity, and a willingness to get a bit messy!
