An Introduction to Dressmaking 

Always wanted to sew but didn’t know where to start?

Had a go once… got in a muddle… gave up in a huff?

Perfect. You’re exactly who this course is for.

This is a proper back-to-basics, confidence-building day where we take you gently (and occasionally firmly!) by the hand and show you what it’s all about.

You’ll learn:

• How to use a sewing machine (without fear)
• What on earth an overlocker is — and how to use one
• How to understand and read a pattern (demystified, finally)
• How to cut out your fabric without panic

And by the end of the day…

You’ll have made a simple summer top. From scratch. With your own two hands. Slightly miraculous.

This is perfect if you:

• Are a complete beginner
• Had a go years ago and lost confidence
• Want a proper refresher without feeling daft

No pressure, no jargon, no judgement – just a lovely, supportive day where it all starts to make sense.

We’ve got a beautiful range of fabrics in the shop that are perfect for your top, and you’ll receive 15% off your fabric for the workshop.

What’s included:

• Full day tuition
• Use of machines (including overlockers)
• All equipment and guidance
• A light lunch

What you need:

• Just yourselves (brace yourselves… it’s a bit of a white-knuckle ride in the best way)

Come in thinking “I can’t sew”… Leave thinking “well that escalated – I’ve made a top.”

 Parking

On-site parking is very limited and not suitable for all-day use.

Please use the free all-day car park just up the road on the right.

Cancellations

• Workshops are paid for in advance
• 48 hours’ notice minimum for cancellations
• Late cancellations are non-refundable
• You may send someone in your place if needed
