Quilted Waistcoat (Gilet): Tuesday February 24th, 10-4pm

Make a simple, stylish quilted waistcoat (gilet) using an easy pattern. This is a great first garment if you’re new to sewing, or a relaxed project if you want something wearable and modern without too much complexity.

We’ll be working with a range of quilted fabrics, including reversible, pre-lined, and ready-to-line options. Quilted waistcoats are perfect for layering over shirts, jumpers and T-shirts, and work well across seasons.

Who it’s for

Confident beginners and improvers with basic sewing machine skills.

What you’ll do

• Cut and prepare quilted fabric
• Construct a simple waistcoat
• Understand lining and finishing options
• Leave with a wearable garment

What’s included

Use of machines, tools and equipment, plus tea and coffee.

Fabric is not included, but we have suitable quilted fabrics in the shop. Workshop attendees will receive a 15% discount for fabric on the day.

Full-day workshops usually run 10am–4pm

Nothing essential – we provide machines.

You’re welcome to bring your own scissors or tools if you prefer.

Fabric & Preparation

• Measurements are often needed in advance
• Please choose fabric before the workshop, not on the day
• We recommend buying fabric from the shop – it’s curated to work well with our courses
• Workshop attendees receive 15% off fabric
• We can’t be responsible for problems caused by unsuitable fabric bought elsewhere

Parking

On-site parking is very limited and not suitable for all-day use.

Please use the free all-day car park just up the road on the right.

Cancellations

• Workshops are paid for in advance
• 48 hours’ notice minimum for cancellations
• Late cancellations are non-refundable
• You may send someone in your place if needed
