Saturday June 20th: Katherine Richmond Jewellery Artist
Katherine’s work combines vintage book pages with precious metals and she creates completely one of a kind pieces using a variety of mixed media as well as using silver and metal. This will be a wonderful introduction to traditional jewellery making. The course, runs over 1 day, you will be able to experiment with various different techniques on small pieces of copper, including applying textures, pressing, rolling, hammering, drilling holes, cutting and soldering. You will then be guided through the processes to make at least one finished item of jewellery, such as a pendant, earrings or a ring.
£60 includes most items plus a light lunch – there will be a small charge for silver and copper payable to Katherine. If you have anything you would like to make into a piece of wearable art please bring it along! Ideally these items should be drillable (such as wood, metal, paper, leather, rubber, cardboard, plastic). Please note that this workshop will not cover stone setting
