Right. If you only make one thing this summer  – make these.

The Tessuti Bailey Shorts are an absolute joy. Easy, stylish, elasticated waist (you’re welcome), and yes… they’ve got proper pockets. You will live in them.

This is a brilliant confident beginner project – nothing too scary, but plenty of lovely techniques to get stuck into, and you’ll come away with something you’ll actually wear (not one of those “what was I thinking?” makes… we’ve all been there).

And the fabric… oh my word. We’ve got gorgeous linens and floaty cotton lawns in the shop that are just begging to be turned into these shorts.

15% off fabric when you’re on the course — dangerous, frankly.

Fabrics:

We ask that fabrics are purchased from Betty’s (with 15% off for course goers). We’ve tested and selected fabrics that work beautifully for this pattern, ensuring your garment is a success.

Before the course:

Please pop into the shop to see our sample so we can advise you on the best fabric and sizing for your project.

What’s Included

• Small-group tuition (usually 4–5 people)

What to bring

Nothing essential – we provide machines.

You’re welcome to bring your own scissors or tools if you prefer.

Fabric & Preparation

• Measurements are often needed in advance
• Please choose fabric before the workshop, not on the day
• We recommend buying fabric from the shop – it’s curated to work well with our courses
• Workshop attendees receive 15% off fabric
• We can’t be responsible for problems caused by unsuitable fabric bought elsewhere

Parking

On-site parking is very limited and not suitable for all-day use.

Please use the free all-day car park just up the road on the right.

Cancellations

• Workshops are paid for in advance
• 48 hours’ notice minimum for cancellations
• Late cancellations are non-refundable
• You may send someone in your place if needed
